Public Service
The club provides communications for several events each year and emergency communications when needed. The club, through the NTS and VTARA nets, provides a means for routine third-party messages to be sent and received via Amateur Radio.

Skywarn
Amateur radio operators provide valuable information on severe storm conditions to the National Weather Service. The local NWS office is located on the edge of campus, next to the airport, and club members are instrumental in SKYWARN's operation in the area.
